Single-parent families are doing everything they can to care for their children while navigating poverty.  Many families are forced to make impossible choices between rent, food, transportation, and basic necessities like clothing. Food insecurity, lack of access to appropriate clothing, unstable employment, unaffordable housing, limited childcare, social isolation place enormous pressure on families who are already carrying so much. Roots and Rise Family Services Society exists to walk alongside these families with respect, compassion, and practical support.

At Roots and Rise, we meet single parents where they are. Through hands-on family support, service coordination, and life skills development, we help families stabilize daily life, access food supports, clothing resources, income assistance, and community services, and build confidence in advocating for themselves and their children. Our work is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and grounded in dignity, choice, and genuine partnership.

By reducing isolation, strengthening protective factors, and ensuring families have access to necessities such as food and clothing, Roots and Rise supports families to move from survival toward stability and hope. This work contributes to poverty reduction by strengthening family foundations, supporting participation in education and employment, reducing reliance on crisis services, and improving the overall well-being of parents and children.
